James Crooks

As a keen sportsman, James experienced multiple sporting injuries at a young age, which resulted in his seeking out chiropractic care with Sarah. James has had first-hand experience with how chiropractic care can improve recovery and overall wellness, which led him to pursue a career in chiropractic to help others the way he was helped.

James completed five years of study at the University of South Wales, where he developed a strong foundation in chiropractic techniques, patient care, and rehabilitation knowledge. James is excited to bring these skills to Abertawe Chiropractic and continue expanding his knowledge base and treatment options to provide the most effective care for each individual.

Physical activity has always been an important part of James’ life. James has been involved in a wide variety of activities, and he currently enjoys running, weightlifting, and a little bit of surfing.

Born in Swansea and having lived in Skewen for most of his life, James is especially excited to work with people in the community he’s always called home. James looks forward to meeting you and helping you achieve your personal health goals!

Sarah Williams (she/her)

Sarah has always had a passion for sport, spending most of her childhood Saturdays at the local leisure centre. With a background in gymnastics as both an athlete and a coach, she developed a deep fascination with the mechanics of movement — how the body should move, and what happens when it doesn’t. This interest led her to study at the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic, where she graduated in 2014 after five years of training. Today, Sarah has particular clinical interests in three key areas:-

The first is the treatment of headaches and migraines. As a headache sufferer herself, she is genuinely passionate about this. Having experienced first-hand the impact headaches can have on daily life — and the relief that hands-on care can bring — she is dedicated to helping patients reduce the frequency and intensity of their symptoms and regain control of their wellbeing.

The second is what she describes as “complex and unusual” movement patterns. For Sarah, challenging cases feel like a puzzle waiting to be solved. Drawing on over a decade of hands-on clinical knowledge, she enjoys identifying when anatomy isn’t functioning as it should and uncovering the root cause of dysfunctional movement. Restoring more efficient, resilient patterns is one of the most rewarding aspects of her work.

Finally, Sarah has a strong interest in joint hypermobility. With her roots in gymnastics, she finds it fascinating to view hypermobility from both perspectives — where flexibility can be praised for enabling impressive skills, yet the underlying challenges are often overlooked. She enjoys supporting hypermobile patients in building strength, stability and confidence, helping them manage the battles that can sometimes exist behind the scenes.

After qualifying, Sarah moved to Swansea to continue her professional development under the guidance of two of the first chiropractors to establish a practice in Wales. Outside of work, she remains actively involved in sport. She is a keen runner, having completed a full marathon in 2024 for Dementia UK and taking part in several half marathons. Her sporting background continues to shape her approach to patient care, combining performance insight with clinical expertise.
